Delete your Shiberu account
You can delete your Shiberu account and all of its data at any time. This covers the Shiberu app on Android, the web app at shiberu.app and the Shiberu browser extension, which all use the same account.

In the app
1.
Open the Shiberu app, or sign in at shiberu.app.
2.
Go to Profile → Account Management.
3.
Under Danger Zone, tap Delete Account, type DELETE and confirm with your password. If you signed up with Google and have no password, we email you a 6-digit code to confirm instead.
If you can't sign in
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We check that the account is yours and delete it within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What is deleted
•
Your account and profile: username, email address, display name, bio and picture link.
•
Your decks, notes, cards and note types, and the images and audio in them.
•
Your review history and scheduling data, study sessions, streaks, XP and achievements.
•
Your known-word statuses, Reader texts and imported files.
•
Your friends and friend requests, comments, ratings and published decks.
•
Paired devices such as the Anki add-on, and your sign-in on every device.
What is kept
•
Copies of your published decks that other learners already added to their own libraries stay in their libraries.
•
Shared caches of dictionary results, AI explanations and audio. They are stored by text only and contain no account data.
•
Anonymous counts and technical events (for example, whether the browser extension worked on a site), with any link to your account removed.
•
Database backups: nightly backups are kept for 14 days, and a backup made before each software update is kept for the last 10 updates. Your data leaves the backups as they are replaced, normally within 30 days. Backups are never used to bring a deleted account back.
How long it takes
Deleting in the app or on this page takes effect at once: your data is removed and you are signed out everywhere. Requests by email are handled within 30 days. Backups follow the schedule above.
